Charlie Sheen accused of domestic violence charges

BEIJING, Dec. 28 -- U.S. actor Charlie Sheen, 44, was accused of using a weapon in an alleged case of domestic violence in Aspen, Colorado, according to media reports Monday.

Sheen was arrested on Christmas morning at a house in Aspen where he was staying with his wife Brooke Mueller Sheen.

He was released later Friday after posting bond of 8,500 dollars. Sheen returned to Los Angeles after his release.

Local police said Sheen was arrested for investigation of second degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief.

Sheen is slated to appear in court on Feb. 8 next year.

In December 1996, Sheen was arrested for attacking Brittany Ashfield, who was his girlfriend, in Southern California. He pleaded guilty in 1997 and was placed on two years' probation.
