"Avatar Day" show clip of Cameron's 3D movie

BEIJING, Aug. 31 -- 16 minutes of James Cameron's much anticipated, high-tech follow-up to 1997's 'Titanic' was released earlier this week.

Twentieth Century Fox is showing preview footage of the 3D sci-fi adventure at cinemas around the globe on Friday. The audience will include lucky fans who scored free tickets online to what they're calling "Avatar Day."

16 minutes of James Cameron's much anticipated, high-tech follow-up to 1997's 'Titanic' was released earlier this week.

A glimpse at the toys, video game, and 3D poster associated with the film will also be unveiled Friday.

The opportunity to give fans a glimpse of the movie was the brainchild of Cameron himself.

The extended preview will show on 102 screens in America and 342 internationally. According to Fox, a total of 58 countries are participating.

Tickets to the event sold out within 24 hours after being released.

The film follows a former marine who joins an alien army to help defend their planet against a human invasion. The story was written by Cameron, who says it was 14 years in conception, and four years in the making.

"Avatar" features Sigorney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, and Giovanni Rabisi and stars newcomer Sam Worthington in the lead role.

Some estimates have pegged the budget for "Avatar" in the 300-million dollar range, but Fox has published a figure closer to 230-million dollars.

Cameron is best known for "Titanic," currently the most profitable film in history at 1.8 billion dollars, but he hasn't been resting on his laurels for the past 12 years. He directed a series of 3D underwater documentaries, like "Aliens of the Deep."

If the film is a box-office success, Cameron said it could move 3-D cinema into the mainstream.

"Avatar" explodes onto screens in December.

Honduras begins election campaigning amid political crisis

A supporter of Honduras' ousted president Manuel Zelaya burns a t-shirt of Liberal Party presidential candidate Elvin Santos during a rally marking the start of his election campaign outside Hotel Honduras Maya in Tegucigalpa August 30, 2009.

TEGUCIGALPA, Aug. 30 -- Coup-hit Honduras formally began its campaigning on Sunday for November election, some two months after a military coup set the country into a political crisis.

Parties have less than 90 days to hold rallies and make media claims for the late November election that is set to choose a president, 128 deputies, 128 substitute deputies, 298 municipal leaders and 20 deputies and substitutes for the Central American Parliament.

The Liberal Party is fielding Elvin Santos for the presidency, while Porfirio Lobo Sosa is running for the main opposition National Party.

The Christian Democrats have Felicito Avila as their candidate, the Innovation and Democratic Unity Party has Bernard Martinez and the left-wing Democratic Unity Party, Cesar Ham.

Carlos Reyes is campaigning for the presidency as an independent candidate.

The election was called by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal on May 28, when the ousted President Manuel Zelaya was still in office.

Zelaya's supporters have called for a boycott of the vote, demanding an immediate reinstatement of Zelaya.

Following the coup, Honduras has been under huge pressure as many countries in the region recognize only Zelaya as the country's president. The Organization of American States (OAS), which suspended Honduras in July, has stately clearly that it will not recognize the result of the November 29 elections for a new president.

Lady GaGa: Making Beautiful Music With Michael Bolton

Now here's a real head-scratcher.

The British edition of Marie Claire reports that "Poker Face" songbird Lady GaGa is collaborating with legendary crooner Michael Bolton for his upcoming album, One World One Love—and it was GaGa's idea to work together!

"I was taking a break from production when my manager and the label tag-teamed me on the phone about writing with a young artist named Lady GaGa who I had never heard of —but they were raving about—they said that she was a huge fan of mine and wanted to write with me," Bolton says.

The admiration quickly became mutual when Bolton met up with the Pantsless One in the studio.

"When I met her in the studio later that night, I realized she was not only about to have a big hit record but GaGa was a superstar about to launch—her energy was so high and her focus excited me," Bolton recalls. "She reminded me of a young Madonna—with more exuberance and emphasis on the art rather than the marketing."

Bolton also penned material with Ne-Yo for the album.

Can someone please tell us what is going on here?

One World One Love will be released in the UK on September 21. In the meantime, share your thoughts in the comments section: Is a Michael Bolton/Lady GaGa collaboration a recipe for disaster, or musical bliss?

Megan Fox Says She Prefers Kissing Girls

Megan Fox had no problem with Amanda Seyfried in their new movie 'Jennifer's Body.'

"I feel much safer with girls, so I felt more comfortable kissing her in the movie than kissing any of the other people that I had to kiss," she tells MTV News.

But Seyfried did not feel the same way, according to her co-star.

"I think she was extremely uncomfortable. I don't think that -- I know that. She was not comfortable and there was a lot of laughing -- like, giggling fits that happened in between takes," Fox explains.

In 'Body,' Fox plays a high school student who eats her male classmates. The horror movie was written by Oscar-winning Juno scribe Diablo Cody.

DJ AM found dead in New York apartment

Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein arrives for the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year gala in honor of Neil Diamond in Los Angeles, February 6, 2009.

NEW YORK- DJ AM, the stage name of disc jockey Adam Goldstein whose music could be heard on albums by Madonna and Will Smith, was found dead in his New York apartment on Friday, police said. He was 36.

Police said no foul play was suspected in the death of Goldstein, who socialized with Hollywood celebrities and in 2008 survived a plane crash with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

Media reports said Goldstein was found with prescription pill bottles near his body after he had not been heard from for days.

As a DJ, his work appeared on albums by Madonna, Will Smith, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Papa Roach. He performed at clubs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and elsewhere.

With the band Crazy Town, Goldstein had the 2001 hit song "Butterfly" but the group broke up two years later.

He partnered with Barker of punk band Blink 182 last year to create a live DJ and drum performance and the duo played occasionally at clubs and other concert venues.

In September 2008, Goldstein and Barker were in a private plane that crashed while taking off from an airport in South Carolina. The two pilots and two passengers were killed.

Goldstein and Barker suffered serious burns and were hospitalized in critical condition.

Goldstein posted his last known public remarks on the social networking website Twitter on Tuesday when he wrote: "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

The words were lyrics from a song by Grandmaster Flash, a pioneer of hip-hop music.

Goldstein dated reality TV star Nicole Richie, to whom he was at one point engaged, and later went out with singer and actress Mandy Moore.

The important moments in Edward Kennedy's life

Edward Kennedy (C) was the youngest of nine children in the family. Photo taken in London, 1939.

Edward Kennedy married Joan Bennett in New York on November 29, 1958. The Archbishop of New York is personally blessing them in this file photo.

After John Kennedy was elected the 35th U.S. President, Edward Kennedy started to run the campaign for the senator seat left vacant by his oldest brother. He was elected the U.S. Senator for Massachusetts in 1962.

After John Kennedy was assassinated, Edward Kennedy (R, front), together with Robert Kennedy (L, front) and Jacqueline Kennedy (C, front), attended the funeral.

The airplane Edward Kennedy took from Washington to Massachusetts crashed on June 19, 1964. The pilot and Edward Moss, one of Kennedy's aides, were killed. Kennedy was pulled from the wreckage by fellow Senator Birch E. Bayh II and spent months in hospital recovering from a severe back injury, a punctured lung, broken ribs and internal bleeding.

File photo shows Edward Kennedy at the Senate budget hearing in 1967. In 1968, his brother Robert Kennedy was shot and died during his presidential campaign.

On the night of July 18, 1969, Edward Kennedy was on Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts at a party. Leaving the party, Kennedy was driving home with 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne as his passenger, when Kennedy drove off Dike Bridge. Kennedy escaped the vehicle safely and left the scene. But he did not call authorities until Kopechne's body was discovered the following day. Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a sentence of two months in jail, suspended. In this photo, a trailer is pulling his car out from the water.

Edward Kennedy gave an endorsement to Obama on January 28, 2008. Kennedy's endorsement raised the possibility of improving Obama's vote-getting in the primaries.

On May 20, 2008, doctors announced Kennedy had a malignant glioma, a type of cancerous brain tumor.
